Job Description

A senior position within the IS Software Reliability department offers the opportunity to play a key role in the verification and implementation of all significant computer system modifications or enhancements which support TAHP's many user departments and various associated health plan offerings. The analyst will be required to participate in all phases of the Project Development Life Cycle from project definition through implementation. The analyst will work with multiple IS Departments including eBusiness, Enterprise Solutions Integration, Data Services and colleagues among the IS Software Reliability organization The analyst must have a strong knowledge of testing procedures and practices and will be responsible for the design and execution of test plans, problem identification, and eventual verification of problem resolution. The analyst must have the leadership skills necessary to support the team in a supervisory capacity on projects. The individual will initially be working on THP's Operational Data Store, an Oracle based relational database.

Essential functions occur simultaneously, therefore, the employee must be able to appropriately handle each essential function, set priorities and seek assistance when necessary. These functions need to be performed on a consistent and regular basis, using good judgment. Ability to learn and apply TAHP policies consistently and seek out guidance when necessary.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION: (Minimum education & certifications required)

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or quality assurance, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience and certification

EXPERIENCE: (Years of experience)

  • At least five years' experience in Information Systems development, preferably in a healthcare insurance environment
  • At least five years' experience leading Information Systems teams and/or projects
  • At least three years' experience in Information Systems process management
  • Strong knowledge and experience working within waterfall and Agile system development life cycles
  • Strong knowledge of Information Systems Quality Assurance practices including participation in change control boards, quality reviews, and configuration management teams
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL, CMMI, PMBoK and Operations Excellence standards and procedures
  • Experience defining, collecting, and reporting metrics related to Information Systems management
  • Experience managing external vendor resources such as consultants and development partners who are providing outsourced services to THP

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel, overtime)

  • Fast-paced office environment handling multiple demands
  • Requires that the individual be organized while being readily adaptable to changes in work
  • 40-hour work week with occasional extended day or weekend commitments
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Sufficient dexterity of hands and fingers to efficiently operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and other computer components.
