DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Translates written and verbal communication between NOA, NCL, and other Nintendo subsidiaries and partners
  • Translates confidential e-mail and other written documentation from Japanese to English, and English to Japanese
  • Provides verbal interpretation for meetings and conference calls
  • May require travel to Japan as well as evening work in Pacific Time Zone

SUMMARY OR REQUIREMENTS

  • Five or more years of experience translating documents of a business and technical nature
  • Written and verbal fluency in English and Japanese, including keigo, jargon, slang, and idioms, with basic understanding of technical subject matter
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information
  • Ability to produce high quality results under tight deadlines and fluctuating priorities with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy and work effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Experience with English and Japanese versions of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Additional experience with Microsoft Visio and Adobe Acrobat preferred
  • Professional training in Translation/Interpretation or equivalent experience
  • Level 1 certification in Japanese Language Proficiency Test required, or
  • Level 1.5 certification or higher English Language Proficiency Test required
