Assistant Lecturer, American Sign Language Instructor

The University Of Wyoming Division of Communication Disorders has a faculty position open at the Assistant lecturer level. This is a full-time, 9 month position renewed annually. Salary and benefits are competitive.   Primary responsibilities for this position are teaching American Sign Language I & II and possibly other courses.   

 The Division of Communication Disorders offers an undergraduate degree in speech-language-hearing sciences and a CAA accredited graduate program in speech-language pathology. ASL is part of the undergraduate curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An earned Bachelor's degree, fluency in ASL, and evidence of effective communication and collaboration.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certification as an ASL instructor, Deaf Educator, speech-language pathologist or audiologist.
  • Experience in teaching or interpreting ASL.
  • Knowledge of deaf culture.
  • Master's degree in a related field, or general teaching experience.
